Signs Your Silestone Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

• Darkened grout lines that won’t clean. Silestone itself doesn’t stain, but the cementitious grout between your quartz and the wall tile is porous. In Palo Alto’s hard water zone (280-320 ppm calcium), mineral deposits wick into cracked grout and breed mold below the surface. The fix isn’t re-grouting - it’s removing the quartz, replacing the waterproofing membrane, and reinstalling.
• Hairline cracks at sink corners or cooktop cutouts. These follow stress concentration points where the fabricator’s radius was too tight or the cabinet settled unevenly.
